Power Rankings: Best Bandwagon Shows to Jump on During Isolation

Updated: Apr 4

Do you ever feel like you're on the outside of those water cooler conversations on everyone's favorite show? Now is your chance to fix that. We're breaking down the Top 10 bandwagon shows to jump on during your time in isolation.

#10

Show: Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness

Streaming Service: Netflix

Genre: Documentary

Plot: A rivalry between big cat eccentrics takes a dark turn when Joe Exotic, a controversial animal park boss, is caught in a murder-for-hire plot.

Best Character: Joe Exotic

Why We Love It: This is a prime example of not being able to look away from a train wreck. This story is so out there that it could never be scripted, but that isn't stopping fans from making their own casting picks for a Hollywood Adaptation. Danny McBride for Joe Exotic, anyone?

#9

Show: Peaky Blinders

Streaming Service: Netflix

Genre: Crime, Drama

Plot: A gangster family epic set in 1919 Birmingham, England; centered on a gang who sew razor blades in the peaks of their caps, and their fierce boss Tommy Shelby.

Best Character: Thomas Shelby

Why We Love It: The easiest way that we can sum this show up is just "badass". From the epic storylines, amazing acting, stylish editing, and clever use of modern music, this show is a must-watch for any fan of the organized crime world.

#8

Show: Love Is Blind

Streaming Service: Netflix

Genre: Reality-TV

Plot: Singles who want to be loved for who they are, rather than what they look like, have signed up for a less conventional approach to modern dating.

Best Character: Barnett

Why We Love It: The Bachelor is on a filming hiatus right now, so there could be a dry spell of good reality dating shows out there after Listen To Your Heart wraps up. This show is the perfect candidate to fill that void for you. Plus, you can join in on the world's collective hate for Jessica.

#7

Show: Supernatural

Streaming Service: Netflix

Genre: Drama, Fantasy, Horror

Plot: Two brothers follow their father's footsteps as hunters, fighting evil supernatural beings of many kinds, including monsters, demons, and gods that roam the earth.

Best Character: Dean Winchester

Why We Love It: This show is the perfect combination of episodic story-telling mixed with engaging season-long arcs. This balance has helped the show remain on the air for an impressive 15 seasons. If there is one thing that is abundantly clear from this show's tenure, it's that it truly loves and respects its fans. This show makes a genuine effort to give fans something truly unique each season. This has led to some of the most fun and entertaining storylines on TV. Some episode plots include the two brothers ending up on a Ghost Hunters-esque reality show, Sam and Dean becoming their real-life actors, Supernatural rebranding as every other type of show on TV, and who could forget the epic Scooby-Doo crossover episode? Also, Jensen (Dean Winchester). We love everything Jensen does.

#6

Show: Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan

Streaming Service: Amazon

Genre: Action, Drama, Thriller

Plot: An up-and-coming CIA analyst, Jack Ryan, is thrust into a dangerous field assignment as he uncovers a pattern in terrorist communication that launches him into the center of a dangerous gambit.

Best Character: Jack Ryan

Why We Love It: Let's be honest, Homeland's quality has been on a steady decline over the past few seasons. The world has had a void for high-quality political thrillers on TV. This is where Jack Ryan comes in. This show is everything that the recent films of the franchise were missing. Plus, John Krasinski is amazing in the lead role.

#5

Show: Better Call Saul

Streaming Service: Netflix

Genre: Crime, Drama

Plot: The trials and tribulations of criminal lawyer Jimmy McGill in the time before he established his strip-mall law office in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Best Character: Saul Goodman

Why We Love It: We are huge Breaking Bad fans here at Ship It Studios. It's definitely been tough to cope with the void that has come since that show left the air. Better Call Saul has helped ease that pain by delivering some of the best all-around storytelling on TV. What started off as just a clever expansion of the franchise quickly turned into the next best thing on TV.

#4

Show: The Boys

Streaming Service: Amazon

Genre: Action, Comedy, Crime

Plot: A group of vigilantes set out to take down corrupt superheroes who abuse their superpowers.

Best Character: Billy Butcher

Why We Love It: The Arrowverse did a lot of things right, but some fans have gotten fatigued over the years from the stretched out character-arcs and predictable episodic storytelling. The Boys is the perfect show to reinstill that energy for every Superhero fan out there. This show also works very well for non-fans of the genre. It's the perfect mix of being well-written, well-acted, and just an all-around good time. As long as you're not offended by vulgar comedy and violence.

#3

Show: Westworld

Streaming Service: HBO

Genre: Drama, Mystery, Sci-Fi

Plot: Set at the intersection of the near future and the reimagined past, explore a world in which every human appetite can be indulged without consequence.

Best Character: Bernard

Why We Love It: Looking for a show that will challenge you mentally and keep you guessing at every turn? Westworld has plenty of twists for your brain as you question your definition of "real" in this impressive western theme park with artificially intelligent hosts. There have been many failed attempts at the sci-fi/western genre, but Westworld strikes the right balance with that gritty, old school feel with updated themes and story.

#2

Show: You

Streaming Service: Netflix

Genre: Crime, Drama, Romance

Plot: A dangerously charming, intensely obsessive young man goes to extreme measures to insert himself into the lives of those he is transfixed by.

Best Character: Joe Goldberg

Why We Love It: This is a show that I did not expect to like as much as I did going into it. Penn Badgley, in the lead role of Joe, is an extremely engaging character. The show also does a great job of continually raising the stakes and somehow pulling it off each time. If you were a fan of Showtime's Dexter we definitely recommend checking this out.

#1

Show: The Witcher

Streaming Service: Netflix

Genre: Action, Adventure, Drama

Plot: Geralt of Rivia, a solitary monster hunter, struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts.

Best Character: Geralt

Why We Love It: Fans still haven't fully gotten over the disappointment that was the Game of Thrones finale. This show is the perfect rebound to get you back on track. Make sure you give this show enough runway. Similar to G.O.T. there is a lot going on with the plot. Trust us, around halfway through the season it all starts to come together. In the meantime, the amazing choreography of the sword fights will keep you more than entertained.
